Stop keying Ariba orders and invoices by hand

Your customer moved purchasing to Ariba. When someone retypes POs and invoices between your ERP and the Ariba portal, every keystroke is a chance for a mistake. Better EDI takes that manual step out of the process.

Manual keying

  • Someone retypes every PO and invoice between your ERP and the Ariba portal
  • A wrong PO number, quantity, or price gets the invoice rejected, so you get paid late
  • You're on an Ariba Enterprise account but don't have staff to build the connection
  • You're paying a VAN just to reach Ariba
  • The work stops when that person is out

With Better EDI

  • POs land in your ERP and invoices go out from it automatically
  • Each invoice is checked before it's sent
  • One connection reaches all of your Ariba buyers
  • Mapping, testing, and go-live handled by our team
  • No VAN needed to reach Ariba

How Ariba EDI integration works

One connection to SAP Business Network reaches every Ariba buyer you trade with. When a new customer moves you to Ariba, they use the connection you already have.

Supported Ariba documents

Better EDI exchanges Ariba's native cXML documents with SAP Business Network.

cXML

Order

Ariba purchase orders land in your ERP automatically, with no portal entry.

cXML

Order acknowledgment

Confirm Ariba orders from your ERP without logging into the portal.

cXML

ASN (advance ship notice)

Tell buyers what shipped and when, straight from your ERP.

cXML

Invoice

Invoices go to Ariba straight from your ERP data, so nobody retypes them.

What we handle

SAP says supplier integration needs technical staff to set up and maintain. With Managed EDI, the Better EDI team is that staff.

Ariba integration FAQ

What does Ariba charge suppliers?

SAP sets the SAP Business Network fees for suppliers, and they depend on your account type and transaction volume. Check SAP's current supplier fee schedule before you budget, because the fees can change. We can walk through what applies to you during your assessment.

Do I need an Ariba Enterprise account?

Yes. Integration with SAP Business Network requires an Enterprise account. A Standard account only allows manual entry in the Ariba portal.

Can I connect with EDI instead of cXML?

Yes. Better EDI supports both X12 EDI (850, 855, 856, 810, 860, and 997) and cXML. We recommend the best fit for your ERP and your buyers.

How long does setup take?

Setup time depends on your ERP, the documents you need, and each buyer's testing requirements. We'll give you a timeline during your free assessment.

Do I need a VAN?

No. Better EDI connects to SAP Business Network directly over AS2 or HTTPS, so you don't need a VAN to reach your Ariba buyers.

What if my customer is asking me to integrate?

That's the most common reason suppliers contact us. Tell us who the buyer is, and we'll handle their requirements, testing, and go-live.

Which ERPs do you support?

Better EDI integrates with NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Acumatica, Odoo, SAP ECC, and SAP S/4HANA. If you run something else, contact our team.
